OUGD602 Personal Branding - Website

Through extended practice I created a website to inform clients about creatives through Squarespace.
I have decided to use the design to create my own personal website design. I like how it is engaging and entertaining to work around.

Your website is your best chance to make a lasting impression to your customers. What is the first thing visitors see when they come to your website? Do they understand your site’s purpose?

In order to have a successful and engaging website, it should have a simple and clear message that all visitors can understand. The best way to communicate your website’s purpose is through a clear message on your homepage.
Another important feature of a good website is navigation. Many website  fail to include structured pages/clear navigation tabs that lead visitors to relevant sections of their website.

It is important to organise the information on your website in a simple and structured way. Think of the general path you would like a site visitor to take. In many cases, adding sub-pages to the top navigation will be the best option for organizing your information into specific categories.

The main function of your website is to convey relevant content to your visitors and help them understand the problems that your products and/or services solve. Your content is the single most important element in increasing customers. Make sure that the content you add to your site is displayed in a  simple and clear manner.

OUGD602 Personal Branding - Logo

Creating my own personal logo that I will use for each profession of mine.
Always read to have a backup after university I have decided to stay with both graphic and fashion design.
Although fashion is the path that I would like to go, I can not rely fully on Blood Brother keeping me on as anything could happen. Therefore, I will be creating a business card for my fashion design page and one for graphic design page.

OUGD602 Business card - Personal

Creating personalised business cards that I intend to use to further clients and new clients who I could come across. Having a business card makes you more professional and makes it more easier to contact you.

Your business cards need to leave a lasting impression.

For my final business cards I have kept my designs simplistic and easily legible. I have used both my fashion logo and my graphic logo to show a variety of professions that I can undertake.

Almost have two sides to me. I have a graphic design business side and a fashion design business side.

Business cards are traditionally the primary way that business people present their contact information to other business people and potential customers or clients. Even in the digital age business cards are thriving.

OUGD602 Business card - Clients

Business cards are another factor that I have seen myself get into more frequently this year. A lot of clients have asked for various business cards as well as designs and it is something that I have found enjoyable. After working with several clients, I believe my understanding into business cards is wider than the previous year. The best business cards have finishes that make them stand out, such as gloss, UV spot finishing and foil stamping.

I have used these designs throughout extended practice and have developed a big understanding of client needs and what business cards require. I have enjoyed creating business cards for clients and have had some positive response. (see design boards)

OUGD602 Business card research

Researching into simplistic business cards.  Having a beautiful eye-catching business card is an integral part of branding. With so many types of business card designs and templates available out there, it’s getting kind of hard to make your business card stand out.

business card typically includes the name, logo and contact information such as addresses, telephones, e-mail addresses and website.

The standard business card size is:
